Travelling Insurance
Ok, what happens if we ignore the perks of travel insurance and think we can manage without it? Well nothing much, really at the most; you will not be able to redeem the stuff that already cost you a fortune, in case you are personally into any trouble related to your health, loss of property, you face the consequences of a delayed flight or then for that matter even if the most important meeting gets cancelled as you could not reach on time, and that happened because the flight you were about to travel in had to be cancelled due to a technical snag. All this and much more just because you thought you could ignore travelling insurance trying to minimise the efforts you put in and also your time. Then it is time for you to think about it again... It Helps in...
It may take you a year to save money for a leisure trip abroad but it will take just one unfortunate incident to ruin it all. There may be arguments that one cannot divert the direction of an unfortunate mishap but one can surely make an effort to safeguard his interests by being doubly sure of what you do. And just right there your travelling insurance steps in as your saviour in bad times. Travel Insurance provides for medical expense incurred, flights that may be delayed or cancelled, there might be damage to your baggage while in transit, assistance on legal matters too are provided if asked for. Thus, one can not ignore travel insurance on the whole.
These are not covered...
Like there are already so many articles that are covered under the travel insurance scheme, there are many more that do not find place in the insurance cover like;
- Money has to at all times be at a safety deposit and not locked in the bags that you carry and check in at the counter while travelling.
- Any event that has triggered off due to negligence on the part of the insurance holder will not be considered valid. That is forgetfulness due to which you left your baggage at the airport itself, not carrying your belongings along with you is not anybody else's fault.
- Losing your sunglasses or spectacles, umbrella and other commodities are not considered under travelling insurance.
- If the custom officials have confiscated your belonging as they saw it as illegal property to be carried on flight again is not insured.
- If there are claims of loss of any personal document that involved legalities other than the passport are not considered under insurance.
- If the property was handed over to any third person other than the owner who is an insured individual, then in that case too, the insured can not claim as he is responsible for his belongings himself and can not hold anyone else responsible.
